President Trump is issuing a presidential pardon for turkeys Corn and Cobb to spare them from the Thanksgiving table at the annual White House ceremony. Speaking in the Rose Garden, Trump wished everyone a "very healthy and happy Thanksgiving."
Trump said these two magnificent gobblers were raised by the National Turkey Federation Chairman Ron Kardel himself in the great state of Iowa. Trump said he hopes Corn and Cobb have a long, happy and memorable life once they retire at Iowa State University.
Typically, the animals spend the rest of the rest of their days at ‘Gobbler’s Rest’ on the campus of Virginia Tech University. This year, however, the President announced the birds will head to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where veterinarians would care for them and members of the public could meet them.
