Author Amy Latta came up with the idea of the "Thankful Pumpkin" nearly a decade ago as a way to celebrate all her family was grateful for and this year it has become even more popular.
She got her inspiration for the pumpkins after playing the “thankful game” at meals, with relatives taking turns going around the table saying things they’re grateful for. She grabbed a pumpkin and started writing them down for a visual reminder for the family members and to use it as decoration for the entire season.
If you are wanting to do this just grab a pumpkin and a permanent marker and get your family members to list things they’re thankful for this year.
You can add to it every day and leave it out as a centerpiece and by the time Thanksgiving rolls around, you’ll have a festive decoration of all the things that make life so sweet.
