(LIST) Weekend Getaways In Ohio

Sometimes we can't take long vacations in the Summer with the kids or your significant other due to busy schedules. Here are five places I found in Ohio that you will want to check out for a long weekend this Summer!

1. R Adventure Park in Logan, Ohio- The World’s First Zip Rail

  • The rail features both roller coaster and zip line elements
  • Also includes a ropes course and paint ball courses and you can rent ATVs
  • The Family Ropes Course, is the world's largest and features 5 different towers and more than 60 challenge elements.

2. Land of Illusion’s Aqua Adventures in Middletown, Ohio - One of Ohio’s newest water parks, this beach features a massive inflatable obstacle course.

  • Other activities include beach volleyball, paddle boarding, horse shoes, corn hole,
  • Their opening day is Friday with daily tickets, group tickets and season passes.

3. Hike the "Abandoned Moonville Tunnel" in McArthur, Ohio (Vinton, County)- Located less than 3 miles from the ghost town of Moonville, what's left of Mineral is also hiding in the middle of Zaleski State Forest.

  • When you get there you find an abandoned town called Mineral
  • The abandoned coal mining town of Moonville was founded in 1856, when the Marietta and Cincinnati railroad ran through the area’s woods.

4. Punderson Manor Lodge and Conference Center in Newbury, Ohio

  • About 30 minutes from Cleveland, there's an underrated state park with a beautiful English Tudor manor that makes a cozy getaway.
  • There are a variety of overnight accommodations here. You can stay in a guest room in the main house or your own personal cabin.
  • Have a golf course, hiking trails, boating opportunities, disc golf, beach volleyball and more

5. Dover’s School House Winery in Dover, Ohio- The building used to be a one-room schoolhouse in 1886.
