There are a ton of free and inexpensive festivals going on this weekend!
All weekend:
The annual Community Festival, held in Goodale Park, celebrates everything counter-culture, eschewing corporate involvement and supporting the collective good for all people. Whether you’re going to check out the local artisans, see unique performances or just enjoy some top-notch people watching, you’re definitely in for a good time.
Check out Powell's signature community event at Village Green Park. Admission is free for this two-day festival that features family-friendly entertainment, awesome food and fireworks.
The three-day Downtown Newark SummerFest brings festivities throughout the downtown area, including local food specials, a beer and wine garden, and a daily parade of the Budweiser Clydesdales. The Brian Panke Band, Rese Jordan and RMT will also be preforming. Admission is free.
Friday and Saturday:
The Strawberry Festival has taken over downtown London. There will be rides, games, food, free nightly entertainment and the largest Cobra Car Show.
Friday:
Check out everything Uptown Westerville has to offer at this month’s 4th Friday, sponsored by Mount Carmel St. Ann’s. This month’s theme is “Safety Fest” and the festival will feature street vendors, food trucks and musical and dance performances.
Saturday:
Now in its 19th year, the annual Easton Art Affair is one of the best arts and crafts shows in Ohio. The show will take over the streets of the “Entertainment Forum” of Easton Town Center and features 100 artists working in ceramics, digital art, drawing and pastels, fiber, woodworking, painting, photography and so much more.
If you love car shows, you won’t want to miss Exotics on the Scioto Mile. There will be more than 100 exotic cars on display on Rich Street Bridge and Washington Boulevard.
Are you a foodie who loves to shop? Then the Tanger Food Truck Festival is perfect for you. In addition to the food trucks, there will be entertainment for kids, including face painting, caricatures, arts and crafts and live music in the Center Courtyard at Tanger Outlets in Delaware from 11am – 7pm.
Learn about Nigerian culture, fashion, music, games, arts, history and cuisine at the Taste of Nigeria festival at the King Arts Complex. Tickets are $5 and kids under the age of 12 get in free. You can purchase tickets online or at the door, and parking at the King Arts Complex is free.
Head down to Laurelville for an amazing afternoon featuring multiple artists, glass blowing demonstrations, hands-on art projects, face painting and live music. If you feel like sticking around for dinner, there will also be a hog roast, complete with sides and refreshments. Tickets for the meal are $20.
