When the coronavirus pandemic started, four-year-old Stellan Smith of Hertfordshire, England, asked his dad for a sunflower “as big as the house.”
Stellan’s dad, Douglas, accepted the challenge and planted a seed. It worked.
The sunflower is now 20 feet tall -- and is believed to be the biggest sunflower in England these days. It’s so tall that Douglas had to build a wooden frame around it to keep it up.
Douglas feeds and waters the plant a couple times a day, but believes it’s pretty much done growing. (The Sun)
