Drive-in weddings …Couples are getting really creative when it comes to tying the knot during the pandemic, and the latest trend is pretty awesome. Couples are renting out drive-in movie theaters for their ceremonies and receptions. You pull in and watch the ceremony from the safety of your car, and can even stay for a movie and snacks to celebrate with family and friends afterwards. Videographers can easily stream the ceremony onto the movie screen and even input the sound directly to your car radio. (Pure Wow)
Speaking of weddings …Wine company Rosé All Day wants to give a couple whose wedding was postponed -- or not what they had originally planned because of the pandemic -- a chance to win a dream honeymoon. “Was your wedding canceled altogether? Was it held on Zoom? Are you planning a socially distant backyard ceremony? Was it postponed to a later date? How have logistics been? We want *all* of the tea -- good, bad, ugly, and hopefully with a love story to continue,” the company said in a statement. For a chance to win, follow them on Instagram @rose_all_day. Then, from July 21nd through September 7th, share your wedding story by posting about it on your own feed and tagging them. “We’re looking to be moved either to laughter or to tears,” the company said. Smart Mask …Masks are going to be around for a while – so they might as well be “smart.” Japanese tech company Donut Robotics has created a smart mask that not only protects the wearer from spreading virus particles, but also translates their speech into eight different languages. The C-FACE Smart Mask uses Bluetooth to connect to the wearer’s cell phone and an installed app then translates their speech. For now, the mask can translate from Japanese into English, French, Indonesian, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese. The mask and app can even translate speech into text messages in a variety of languages -- and even make calls. The C-FACE Smart Mask is expected to be released for sale in Japan starting in September at about $40 each. Donut Robotics is planning to expand sales after the first 5,000 are sold to China, Europe, and eventually the U.S. (Travel & Leisure)
