Planning a move? COVID-19 has affected the lives of everyone in the world, and in the U.S., it’s made a lot of people reconsider where they currently live. According to a recent survey by FinanceBuzz, 26% of Americans are planning a permanent move because of the pandemic. Of the 26%, 41% are looking for a lower cost of living, due to changes in employment and pay, and 29% just want to move out of the more populated urban areas. (Real Simple)
Welcome to Flavortown …The recent removal of controversial statues has led many in Columbus, Ohio, to demand the city change its name. After city officials announced last week that a statue of Christopher Columbus will be removed from City Hall, a petition was started to urge the city to consider changing the name to Flavortown -- in honor of the city's history as one of the country's largest test markets for the food industry, and also a tribute to its native son, celebrity chef Guy Fieri. As of Monday, more than 36,000 people have signed the petition at Change.org. (USA Today)
As more and more people start going back to work, there is one thing that employees agree will make them feel safer. According to a new survey, 55% of respondents said stricter office policies about coming to work sick would make them feel more comfortable returning to work.
Other things that employees said would make them feel less stressed about going back to the office include: More opportunities to work from home (52%), increased office cleaning (50%), more distance between work stations (35%), providing hand sanitizer (35%), touchless bathroom fixtures/doors (33%), installing an air purification system (31%), and fewer face-to-face meetings (23%).
