Jay and Kate Larson of Mar Vista, California, have been spending the past few weeks trying to brighten the days of their neighbors.
They have helped organize a treasure hunt for kids and put fun displays in their front yard.
And now, they really have the attention of their neighbors, since they have started posting a riddle on their front lawn each day.
Kate and their two kids -- six-year-old Reid and four-year-old River -- hand-paint the riddles each day, posting the answers on the back of the sign.
These riddles inspired other neighbors to start decorating their own yards with riddles, jokes and brain twisters.
All of this activity has caused people in the neighborhood to organize their daily walks around visiting the yard displays, often meeting neighbors they had never met before. (Los Angeles Times)
