Speaking of escape …Are you spending your nights watching those cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies? You’re not alone. Lots of people are tuning in … because they offer an escape from the stress of everyday life. As one viewer put it, “It’s not political. It’s something somebody can watch and just be happy about, something that can take your mind off the world for a little bit.” (Buzzfeed)
Are you a we-gifter? “We-gifting” is buying a gift for someone else that you will also be able to use. And according to a new survey by Keurig and One Poll, lots of us do it. In fact, according to the survey, 74% of respondents say they have purchased a “we-gift” for someone on their list. Not surprisingly, 62% of those surveyed said they planned to get a we-gift for their partner or spouse. (SWNS)
Holiday hangovers …The average American consumes double the amount of boozy drinks over the holidays than any other time of year, according to a survey. 69% of those surveyed said they are more likely to socialize over the holidays. This socializing results in three hungover mornings per week during the height of the holiday season and the average American calling in sick twice due to partying too hard the night before. 70% of respondents said hangovers make them less productive at work. And one-third said those rough mornings actually dampened their holiday spirit. (SWNS)
