Seems dating app addiction is a real thing, and according to a new study from Ohio State University there are two traits common in people who compulsively use dating apps: loneliness and social anxiety. “It’s not just that they’re using their phone a lot,” says lead author Kathryn Coduto. “We had participants who said they were missing school or work, or getting in trouble in classes or at work because they kept checking the dating apps on their phones.” She continues, “I’ve seen people who use dating apps compulsively. They take their phones out when they’re at dinner with friends or when they’re in groups. They really can’t stop swiping.” (OSU)

According to a new survey, 92% of freelancers say they can’t take a vacation without working during all or part of it. In fact, 43% of freelance workers hide the fact that they are even on vacation from clients because they think it looks bad and because they don’t want to miss out on new projects. They also feel the need to hide that they are working on vacation from their loved ones – especially women. 65% of female freelancers said they feel the need to hide that they are working on vacation from their partner or family – compared to only 41% of men. A study found the average purse contains more strains of bacteria than most toilets. In fact, the researchers found that 1 in 5 handbags have enough bacteria on them to pose a risk to the average healthy person.
