A match made on ice … Last weekend, Meghan Duggan, captain of the U.S. women's Olympic hockey team, married three-time Olympic gold medal winner Gillian Apps of the Canadian Olympic women's hockey team. Guess true live wins out … even among the biggest rivalries. (Twitter

Getting work done … to do better at work … A new study revealed that one in three Americans is considering getting a cosmetic treatment like Botox, cosmetic dentistry or a tummy tuck done in the next year. 26 percent of those surveyed said it was because they “wanted to appear youthful at work” or were “looking for or starting a new job.” 43 percent said their reasons for getting work done were to improve their self esteem or confidence. What would you tell your 16-year-old self? That question is trending on Twitter, with people sharing some great advice they would impart on their 16-year-old selves. Tips range from spending more time with your grandparents and telling your parents you love them, to not allowing men to treat you like crap and not wasting your time trying to fit in.

OK, your turn … What advice would you give your 16-year-old self if you could?

Do you NOT consider yourself a grown up? You’re not alone. A survey of 25- to 44-year-olds found that 60 percent say they don’t consider themselves “grown up,” with the majority not wanting to give up so-called youthful things like going to concerts and festivals, enjoying amusement parks and playing video games. 90 percent say they like trying new activities or experiences, like playing a musical instrument or trying a new sport. You really can think yourself thin … The brain might not take up much space in our bodies, but it is one powerful organ. Our brains use up to 20 percent of our total energy just to do basic functions. That means, on an average day, your brain’s work can burn over 300 calories. That’s like running three miles. Even better … According to a new study published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology, the harder you think and use your brain, the more calories you burn. Intense memorization or learning a new skill can increase the brain’s calorie burning by 5 percent. That means a rough day at the office or a particularly hard exam might burn off enough calories for you to indulge in an extra portion of dessert. Thanks, brain! (Buzz 60)
