Chivalry is dead … According to Match.com's 2018 Singles in America survey, 10 percent of guys will fart on a first date and 20 percent will pee with the door open after a few dates.
Late to bed, early to rise? A SurveyMonkey poll found that 49 percent of people think that sacrificing sleep is necessary to be successful at work.
Wing it … Don't know what to bring to the Super Bowl party? You can't go wrong with chicken wings. The National Chicken Council estimates Americans will eat 1.35 billion wings this weekend. To put that in perspective, if 1.35 billion wings were placed end to end along I-95, they would stretch from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts ... almost 250 times. Yay for adopting older dogs … Every year since 2005, Animal Planet has aired the Puppy Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday, featuring adorable shelter pups that are up for adoption. This year, for the first time ever -- the night before the big game -- Animal Planet will host a Dog Bowl featuring senior shelter dogs from around the country looking for a forever home. 50 adult dogs will be split into two teams --Team Paws and Team Tails -- and range in age from 2 to 15. Check out the Dog Bowl on Saturday February 3rd at 8 p.m. ET on Animal Planet. And, of course, the Puppy Bowl will air on Sunday, February 4th, beginning at 3 p.m. (ET) on Animal Planet. (Today)
Skip the chip bowl … If you're going to a Super Bowl party or sports bar this weekend, here's a tip: Skip the chip bowl. No, seriously. Whether it's chips, nuts, crackers, pretzels or popcorn ... if it's in a large bowl that everyone can reach into, stay away -- unless, of course, you want to risk getting sick. Researchers at Cornell University were actually able to trace an increase in the flu virus in cities that have a team playing in the Super Bowl. Why? Because a city with a team in the Super Bowl will have more Super Bowl parties, and more parties means more people being in close contact. And eating out of the same bowl is very close contact. Bottom line: You have no idea who has good hygiene when you are sharing Doritos. (She Knows)
Did you know? … There are fewer weddings in the United States on Super Bowl Sunday than any other day of the year. (Shmoop)
