Patrick Bonner and his 10-year-old daughter Stella co-authored a book, “Darien the Librarian” and donated the proceeds to the charity Feeding America. They came up with the idea for the story while reading bedtime books together, and after creating the character, Stella wanted them to turn it into a book. The pair began writing it in the summer of 2019 and thanks to the pandemic, they had more time to devote to their book.
“Darien the Librarian” was released in May 2020 and Stella wanted to donate the proceeds to charity so they set up a fundraiser on Facebook, offering a free copy of the book to anyone who donated $10 to Feeding America. The Bonners received donations from all over the world and raised more than $27,000 for Feeding America, which provided around 270-thousand meals for people in need.
