Kacey Musgraves called out “aggressive” behavior from a concertgoer at one of the recent stops on her headlining “Deeper Well World Tour.” It apparently happened while Musgraves performed on Friday (November 29) in Tampa, Florida.
Fan-recorded footage shows a moment that Musgraves walks near the crowd, and one fan appeared to reach out and grab her as she walked by. Musgraves shared a few videos from TikTok users on her Instagram story on Monday (December 2), including one who wrote, “btw this is not okay and they’re lucky I didn’t instinctively swing.” Another TikTok user shared a video of that moment and wrote, “someone pulled Kacey at the Tampa show tonight.” That TikToker added in the caption, “they got kicked out though.”
On a third slide, Musgraves wrote a statement about the fan’s actions during the show.
“Just because an artist — or any human — is within reach you have zero right to treat them like an object. This was aggressive, was dealt with, and will not be tolerated at my shows,” Musgraves said. “I walk out in the space designated for me to safely move through the crowd so I can connect on a closer level. It’s fun until someone has to ruin it.”
Musgraves kicked off her world tour earlier this year in Dublin, Ireland. She’s wrapping it up this month with back-to-back shows in Nashville, Tennessee. The Grammy Award-winning artist released her fifth studio record in March, and followed it with the deluxe edition, Deeper into the Well, in August. Find Musgraves’ music on iHeartRadio here.
