Parents Ask Kids To Get Off Their Electronic Devices Seven Times A Day

These days it isn’t uncommon to see a kid staring at some sort of device and parents certainly feel like their children’s addiction to tech is getting a bit out of hand.

According to a study conducted by OnePoll, on behalf of Circle the new survey finds:

  • Parents say they ask their children to get off a digital device an average of seven times a day.
  • Three quarter of parents think their family needs a digital detox after self-quarantine.
  • 68% plan to limit family screen time this summer.
  • 45% plan to limit it to just a few hours a day
  • 28% want to a full-day detoxes a few times a week.
  • 48% already have a tech curfew, usually around 8:05 pm.
  • 76% want a summer digital detox so they can spend more time with their family.
  • Unfortunately, 80% of parents say the COVID-19 crisis has made it difficult to plan fun, but safe activities this summer.
  • The top COVID-19 friendly activities parents have planned include:
    • Playing board games (40%)
    • Camping the backyard (37%)
    • Making arts and crafts (36%)
    • Reading books (36%)
    • Building blanket and pillow forts (36%)
    • Making breakfast as a family (32%)
    • Teaching my kids as a new skill (31%)
    • Making a home movie theater (30%)
    • Playing with water guns (29%)
