Netflix and HBO Shelling Out Huge Figures For Seinfeld and Big Bang Theory

A new bar has been set in regards to the streaming services arms race. Just one day after news broke that Netflix purchased the rights to Seinfeld for , HBO Max has reportedly bought the streaming rights to Big Bang Theory for "billions" of dollars.

According to the The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Max paid "BILLIONS of dollars" for the exclusive streaming rights to all 12 seasons for five years. The exact amount hasn't been announced.

Seinfeld will be streaming on Netflix in 2021, while Big Bang Theory will be available this Spring.

Earlier this year, HBO Max paid $425 million over five years ($85 million per year) to steal "Friends" from Netflix.
