When a daughter found out her Dad would be unable to leave Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center to walk her down the aisle, she brought the wedding to him instead!
Janae Hauger’s father became seriously ill with pancreatitis.
“It was a very tough battle to face- my dad has dreamt of the day he was able to walk one of his daughters down the aisle in his barn. He has put so much work, sweat, blood, and tears into that barn to make it absolutely perfect. And he sure did succeed!!” said Hauger in a Facebook post
Hauger had planned to dance to Darius Rucker’s “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” with her father at the wedding. She didn’t let his hospitalization stop that plan.
“We had the opportunity to surprise my dad and go to the hospital Saturday before the wedding. John, his nurse told him he was just going down for an X-ray but had to make a little pit stop. The moment he saw me was a moment I will never forget- there were A LOT of tears but a lot of laughs too. And again we were able to dance to our song. What an unbelievable experience. Though I wish he could’ve walked me down the aisle and dance with me at the wedding, it was a moment I will cherish forever. I love you pop! You have sacrificed so much for me and I am blessed to have the best dad in the world❤️ I love you to the moon and back!! ❤️ GOD IS SO GOOD!” said Hauger.
