YES! It's arrived! The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles released their latest list of banned personalized license plates and it's nothing short of funny & dysfunctional.
The list contains more than combinations of letters and numbers from the last year that the BMV decided was inappropriate, based on guidelines set up between the BMV and the ACLU.
Among the rejected plates are references to violence, sexual acts and scatological references. Combinations of Xs and Ks were also rejected, as they are difficult to read.
According to the guidelines, personalized plates must not contain words or phrases that are profane, have a sexual nature, or include references to words that describe poop.
Also, the plate cannot contain a phrase that would induce hate or violence. The plates also must not have words that talk about lawlessness.
An example of that would be "murder," however officials said that "speeder" would be OK, however, might draw some extra attention to your car.
When a plate is denied, the applicant can appeal, with the hopes of getting the plates.
