A 16-year-old kid who wanted free chicken nuggets from Wendy's has dethroned Ellen DeGeneres as the record-holder for the most re-tweets.
Carter Wilkerson asked Wendy's how many re-tweets he would need to get free nuggets for a year and was given the unreachable number of 18 million. The Nevada teen was up to the challenge and tweeted a plea for re-tweets. Although he never made it anywhere close to 18 million, he did surpass 3.42 million which breaks the record that was held by Ellen's star-studded Oscars selfie.
Wendy's says Wilkerson won't need to reach 18 million as they have declared him the winner and he will get a year's-worth of free nuggets. Wendy's also announced that it is making a $100,000 donation in Wilkerson’s name to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
