You Can Turn A Banana Into A Hammer In This Cold!

Steve Branstrom lives in Embarrass, Minnesota, nicknamed ‘The Cold Spot’ as it’s the coldest place in Minnesota, boasting an Unofficial Low Temp of -64F (-53C) on February 2, 1996.

He left a banana out in the bone-chilling weather which quickly hardened and was soon solid enough for him to bang a nail into a plank of wood.

He and his wife were home because of the cold so he left a banana out overnight but it actually froze REALLY FAST!

It had warmed up to -30F but with a wind chill in the neighborhood of -60F when he started using the banana as a hammer.

He said, "we’ve had much lower temperatures before - we’ve seen -60F in 1996 and it regularly gets to -40-50F in the winter, we had a low of -42F just the other day."
