Vince Gill Debuts Song About His Childhood Trauma

posted by Woody Johnson -

In a performance at the Ryman Auditorium in front of executives from the Universal Music Group, Vince Gill debuted "Forever Changed," a song inspired by stories of sexual abuse.

Before performing the song, Vince revealed he was sexually abused in junior high. Vince said, "I had a gym teacher that acted inappropriately towards me and was trying to do things that I didn't know what the hell was going on."

"I was fortunate that I got up and I ran… I don’t think I ever told anybody my whole life…What’s been going on has been giving me a little bit of courage to speak up, too."
