Yes, You Are Smelling Smoke From The Pacific Northwest Wildfires

The smoke blowing in from far west / northwest of the Miami Valley was detected by satellites being carried by jet-stream level winds into the Ohio Valley. While the smoke is not dangerous at such levels and in that altitude, it can create some interesting "side effects" at this distance away including a smokey smell during storms and the more vivid colors in the sky around sunrise and sunset.
