Little Big Town released a new video for their new single “The Daughters.”
They've teased it with a clip that has still has dancers, but also shows young girls being taught things like etiquette, how to put on makeup and sit right, with one girl itching to rebel against what’s expected, and finally succeeding.
“This song is about the laundry list of expectations and long-standing traditions put on women,” Karen Fairchild, who co-wrote the song with Sean McConnell and Ashley Ray, tells CMT. “It’s about equality. It’s about hope for our children and what their view of the world will be. It’s not about a lack of believing in God or God’s love for girls.”
