Rory Feek Honor's Wife Joey's Memory With a Schoolhouse

posted by Kayla Hanley -

Rory Feek of Joey and Rory built a one-room schoolhouse on his farm for his daughter, Indiana, and some of the children in the area.

He built it with $100,000 in donations that he received from fans after his wife died from cancer in March 2016.

He named the facility Hardison Mill School after the one that served the community a century or more ago.

Rory said, "Joey’s plan had always been to home-school Indy. To raise and teach her at home. Not just how to read and write, but more importantly, to be part of molding her character and faith and help her become all that she can be, especially since she was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth. But now, it was clear that we would have to come up with a different plan."
