Believe It or Not, Wimbledon Had a Massive Pandemic Insurance Policy

Wimbledon was forced to cancel this year, but they're in luck, because they had the foresight to have pandemic insurance.

Wimbledon has reportedly been paying $2 million a year for a massive pandemic insurance policy for the past 17 years. So, they paid roughly $34 million over that time, which seems like a LOT.

So now, when thereSo when there actually IS a pandemic and this year's tournament was cancelled, Wimbledon will now receive $141 MILLION from the policy.

They've had this insurance since 2003, the year of the SARS outbreak.

Here is a crazy fact, Wimbledon has happened every year since 1877 except for the cancellations during World War 1 and World War 2.
