Mitchell Tenpenny and Meghan Patrick have welcomed Baby No. 1!
The two country artists announced on Tuesday (September 8) that their newborn daughter, Ember James Tenpenny, was born in the early morning hours of September 1. Patrick wrote in the couple’s shared caption on Instagram: “Ember James Tenpenny made her grand entrance into our world on September 1st at 3:03 am and we are just in awe and so grateful that God chose us to be her parents. The last few days have been the most beautifully exhausting days and we are just trying to soak up every second with our sweet Emmy girl 💗”
Tenpenny and Patrick got married in October 2022. They announced this spring that Patrick was pregnant with the couple’s first child. They shared a clip of the moment Patrick revealed to Tenpenny that he was “going to be an amazing dad,” as she prayed before sharing a meal together. The pregnancy announcement went on to share glimpses of Tenpenny and Patrick telling family members that a baby was on the way. It also showed Tenpenny’s emotional reaction to the sonogram image and the gender reveal. Soon after making the announcement, Patrick spoke about her pregnancy with iHeartRadio’s Brooke Taylor on an episode of The Upload.
“That’s something we prayed for for a long time,” Patrick said at the time. She said that she and Tenpenny began to believe “maybe it’s not for us and that’s OK.” But once they “kind of let it go,” “God says, ‘hold my beer!’ …Like, three days after Christmas, I had a ‘late Christmas present.’”
