Carly Pearce is embracing her bluegrass influences with her new collaboration arriving this week.
Pearce teamed up with Molly Tuttle and Dan Tyminski on âWhat If You Loved Me,â the next track to release from Pearceâs upcoming fifth studio album, Honest Woman. The Grammy-winning country star shared a sneak peek of the ballad on Instagram on Tuesday (July 14), singing: âWhat if the grass was blue/ What if the sky was green/ What if I didnât love you/ And what if you loved me.â Commenters hailed the song and the harmonies âbeautiful,â âmagicâ and more.
So far, Pearce has released âDream Come True,â âChurch Girl,â âShe Donât,â âYou Can Have Him,â and âIf I Donât Leave Iâm Gonna Stay,â featuring Riley Green. The Kentucky-born artist leans into traditional country and bluegrass elements that âshaped who I am,â she previously shared. âWhen I started making Honest Woman, I found myself rediscovering who I am and why I wanted to be a country music singer in the first place. This album takes me back to the beginning of my story, where the sounds of classic country and bluegrass music shaped who I am. Iâm so proud of this body of work, and I truly feel like itâs my best yet.â

âThereâs a thing about arrival. Itâs never what you think, or what you expect. Itâs not glossy or jacked up. For me, arrival means coming home,â Pearce said in the album trailer. âHonest Woman drops all the facades, the storylines protecting others, the person I was supposed to be, and dials into the woman I am at my core. My great-grandmotherâs autoharp, her banjo that my Papaw played, the bluegrass sounds that were in my blood even before I was born. All of those things rising, shining, reminding me, and all of the people who lived in these songs with me. Itâs honesty that delivers, truth that transcends. Honest Woman goes back to the roots, reaches beyond the drama, lifts up all the classic hard country, and delivers all the truth about love that any of us will ever need.â
Pearce confirmed on Wednesday morning (July 15) that âWhat If You Loved Meâ would arrive on Friday (July 17). Honest Woman will make its debut on August 28. See the sneak peek of Pearceâs collaboration with Tuttle and Tyminski here:
