Jason Aldean Shares How He Balances His Career And Family Life

Balancing family and a successful music career isn't always easy, however, Jason Aldean, has figured out how to make it work.

"Now I've made it a point at this point of my career to scale back a little bit and still make sure that I'm out playing shows and doing what I need to do there, but spending a little more time at home too," the country signer told Us Weekly. "I think it's something that I've gotten a grip on a little, the older I've gotten and the longer I've been in the business. I think I've finally, after all these years, got it figured out now."

He added, "I still love what I do. I love playing shows and doing my thing, but in the early days of my career where I was playing 200 shows a year and was never at home, that kind of gets rough."

Aldean is the father to 16-year-old Keeley and 12-year-old Kendyl, with his now ex-wife Jessica Ussery. He also shares a 2-year-old son Memphis and an 11-month old daughter, Navy, with his wife Brittany Kerr.

Aldean's youngest took a couple steps the other day he revealed. "We're getting close to her walking. She's got two and a half teeth right now, so she's working on a full set there."

Sometimes Aldean has his family join him out on the road, but since "it gets a little crazy," he leaves it up to his wife Brittany. "In the summer, it's a little better because we can get them off the bus and let them run around outside, things like that. It's fun."

Aldean kicks off the first leg of his "We Back Tour" on January 30 in Columbia, South Carolina with shows running through mid-March. He'll then take a brief break for a few months before picking the tour back up in mid-July with shows through late September.

Tickets to the summer leg of the "We Back Tour" will go on sale on January 24.
