Dr. Anthony Fauci, the leading infectious disease expert in the country, says kids don’t have to worry, Santa Claus will still be coming to town and he’s not bringing COVID when he does.
“Santa is exempt from this because Santa, of all the good qualities, has a lot of good innate immunity,” Fauci explains. “Santa is not going to be spreading any infections to anybody.”
However, malls across the U.S. are putting restrictions in place to help keep everyone safe, like not letting children sit on Santa’s lap, having plexiglass barriers between him and the tots and of course, social distancing. But even if they have to tell him their list of requested toys from six feet away or virtually in a Zoom call, he’ll come through for them like he always does on Christmas morning.
