Krystalee Krey and Seth Bowles were planning to tie the knot in June at a destination wedding in Hawaii, but when that didn’t work out, they came up with a thrilling alternative - saying “I do” while dangling from a cliff at Turtle Wall in St. George, Utah.Yes, really.
They planned the entire event in just two days, with friends pitching in to do hair, makeup, videos, photos, and to help with the climbing ropes. They picked Utah because it was the easiest place for one of Krey’s friends to get his license to wed in one day so he could be the officiant.
The bride and groom exchanged vows while secured in harnesses and she held her bouquet with one hand and the rope with the other. She wore white, but it was in the form of shorts and a t-shirt for the ceremony and she changed into her wedding gown later for photos on Utah’s famous red cliffs.
Krystalee’s advice for other couples having to change wedding plans is to just go ahead and do it now. She says, “You and your partner are what matter most on your special day, so have fun with it and worry about the big celebrations later."
