I feel like this debate comes up every year during the holiday season. Should Lethal Weapon and Die Hard be considered as Christmas movies?
The evidence in support of Die Hard being a Christmas flick is that John McClain is just a man trying to spend Christmas with his family. He just happens to save the world along the way.
Lethal Weapon should also be considered a Christmas movie because Mel Gibson's character, Roger Murtaugh, goes on a Ebenezer Scrooge type Christmas transformation to become a better man.
So yes, both Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are Christmas movies.
