Netflix is testing out a feature that will allow you to adjust playback speeds. You can either speed up or slow down your video similar to the feature on Youtube.
You can watch videos at 0.5x, 0.75x, 1.25x, 1.5x speeds. Many Hollywood types including actors and directors alike are against this feature.
Judd Apatow director of many films like The 40 Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up and This is 40 tweeted, "Netflix, no. Don't make me have to call every director and show creator on Earth to fight you on this. Save me the time. I will win, but it'll take a ton of time. Don't [mess] with our timing. We give you nice things..."
It seems that there are Netflix users that are in favor of this, but keep in mind this is just a test for now.
