Carrie To Perform Tribute

Carrie To Perform Tribute

Carrie Underwood is bringing her powerhouse vocals to the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony!

The country star won’t be onstage alone; a slew of top-notch musical friends are joining the singer to perform a musical tribute in honor of Linda Ronstadt. Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, and Sheryl Crow are also part of the tribute.

Eagle Glenn Frey will do the duty of inducting Ronstadt; he played guitar in her band before teaming up with two other Ronstadt band members to form the Eagles.

Sadly, Ronstadt will not be able to attend the induction ceremony due to her struggle with Parkinson’s Disease which she opened up about last fall, admitting she can no longer hit the correct notes while singing.

The rest of the 2014 inductees include Cat Stevens, the E Street Band, Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, KISS, Daryl Hall and John Oates, Andrew Loog Oldham, and Brian Epstein; the latter are non-musicians, early managers of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, respectively.

Inductees Hall and Oates, Gabriel, and Cat Stevens will perform during the April 10 ceremony, which will be broadcast May 31 on HBO.

Underwood is certainly familiar with the other Hall of Fame — the country version. Her Blown Away Tour was memorialized in an exhibit at the museum last year.
