Posted August 21st, 2014 @ 10:39am

The Old Farmer's Almanac, with a new edition just published today, shows a "Super-cold" winter in the eastern two thirds of the country.  The west, according to the Almanac's predictions will remain a bit warmer than normal.  Most of the Northeast is expected to get more snowfall than normal this winter season too.

Other highlights include-

-Florida could be rainier than normal

-A drop in rainfall next summer for the Midwest which could hurt crops

-Hurricane season isn't expected to be especially active, although a major storm could affect the Gulf coast in August of next year
